I often think I left the bookstore because I wound up taking my pay in merchandise, as much as for any other reason.

These slipped like they were made to fit into the Oberon leather cover and, filled, look nice on the shelf. Two are stamped in silver-gilt, the rest in yellow-gilt. Surprisingly inexpensive, my employee discount left me incapable of walking away without them.

Ah, but see, that's the refillable one--each of these slipped into that cover, and then when it was filled, took its place on the shelf. Best of both worlds--I get to keep using the "tree" journal, and never fill it up! I have to buy refills for it anyway. The ones Oberon sells are plain black hardcover sketchbooks. I might as well look around for a variety of prettier and more inspiring blank books, as long as they fit the cover.
